چکیده

This work focuses on the numerical and experimental analysis of turbocharger selection boost pressure effects a CNG-fueled spark-ignition engine. Because this, investigations are carried out influence downsized compression ratio 10.5:1 at different pressures compared with naturally aspirated 12.5:1. In order to perform experimentation, twin-cylinder, port fuel-injected, CNG engine 15.5 kW 3400 rpm is modified utilize compressed bio-methane as fuel under 100% throttle condition. A simulation performed study compressor impeller for T1 T2 turbochargers using ANSYS turbomachinery tool. Results indicate that circumferential velocity higher than all pressures. Subsequently, experimentation three levels in 1.1, 1.3, 1.5 bar. developed maximum 1.1 bar T1. chosen further experimentations. At 1.3 pressure, rise brake power was recorded by 19.3% 12.5:1 mode. Consequently, there reduction consumption 10.1%, hydrocarbon, carbon monoxide, dioxide emission reduce 25%, 8.2%, 4.9%, respectively. Therefore, turbocharging lower exhibits better performance reduces emissions mode.Graphic abstract

Improved Knock Detection Method Based on New Time-Frequency Analysis In Spark Ignition Turbocharged Engine

Premature combustion that affects outputs, thermal efficiencies and lifetimes of internal combustion engine is called “knock effect”. However knock signal detection based on acoustic sensor is a challenging task due to existing of noise in the same frequency spectrum. Experimental results revealed that vibration signals, generated from knock, has certain frequencies related to vibration resonan...

An Experimental Investigation of Spark Ignition Engine Fueled with Ethanol/Iso-octane and Methanol/Iso-octane Fuel Blends

Alcohols have been used as a fuel for engines since 19th century. Among the various alcohols, ethanol and methanol are known as the most suited renewable, bio-based and ecofriendly fuel for spark-ignition (SI) engines. The most attractive properties of ethanol and methanol as an SI engine fuel are that it can be produced from renewable energy sources such as sugar, cane, cassava, many types ...

CFD Performance Analysis of a Spark Ignition Engine Fueled by Landfill Gas

Landfill gas (LFG) that is generated in an anaerobic environment in landfills and consists primarily of methane and carbondioxide with small amount of nitrogen and other non-methane gases, could be collected and used to produce energy either by extracting methane or using the landfill gas directly in an internal combustion engine or a gas turbine. It amounts to be a net-negative greenhouse gas ...

Effect of electrode erosion on the required ignition voltage of spark plug in CNG spark ignition engine

In this article, the electrode erosion and the gap growth of spark plugs were measured on of a CNG fueled engine after durability tests. Then, the required ignition voltage and the spark quality were investigated by a spark plug test rig. Considering results of measurements, the gap growth increased as the running time increased. Thus, the gap growth of spark plugs with 200 and 280 hours runnin...
